03/08/2007: "Special Bonus"
Before you read anything else, please read the entry directly below this one for everything in the following entry to make sense.
...Done? Good!
As a special bonus (as I am sitting here bored in a hotel room in Yakima, Washington) I've decided to do a little update on the tour we've just concluded rather abruptly. Or...perhaps just some highlights?
- We played a NEARLY sold out show in our hometown of Austin, Texas, at Emos (the room was at capacity if count people on the guestlist)
- We played another very nearly sold out show at the Echo, in Los Angeles. A show at which none other than Orlando "Legolas" Bloom came out to (he was more likely there to see Adrian Greniar's band, The Honey Brothers open for us, but he stuck around and watched us long enough to dedicate a couple of songs to him)
-We made our television debut on Fuel.TV
-The majority of us took a day to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain, where we had one of the most PERFECT days ever. My God...the rollercoasters. (X and Tatsu were the favorites of the day.)
-We played a big happy family show for one of our manger's 26th Birthday, John.
-We then made our way up to the Northwest and stopped by the Redwood National Forest, and saw some of the most beautiful landscape in the country. We got out at the Simpson-Reed Grove, and walked a mile through what felt like a movie set. It was amazing. (We'll post some pictures later)
-We then visited the city of Portland, which I believe is now my personal favorite city in America. Even though nobody came to our show there, I still loved it.
-And then we played a really awesome show in Seattle, to a small crowd of very enthusiastic and energetic people.
And those are all the highlights I can think of right now. Hopefully we'll post some more pictures...but here's one for now that will hopefully give you SOME sort of a small idea of how much fun we had at Six Flags...especially since this is the first time I've ever bought a souvenir picture from one of those places. This is a picture Joel, our friend Abigail, Will, and Me on Magic Mountain's brand new ride, called Tatsu:
